Career Pathway - Wind Energy Industry | The Energy Careers website will be on www.iseek.org, which is viewed by 100,000 unique visitors per month.
The wind career pathways will be printed and distributed to WorkForce Centers in our WSAs for use in career counseling and industry information for the universal customer and employment and training clients. The print version will also be distributed to high school counselors via our Youth Programs and distributed to employers in the wind industry for their use in employee recruiting and retention efforts via business services outreach and the WIBs. It will also be posted on CARE partners’ websites and available to DEED, ISEEK , the Energy Career Website and E-Magazine, and industry associations. |

A model for incorporating student trainees, community members and incumbent workers to advance their biofuels knowledge in a shared learning environment | The training manual for the NovaTech ethanol training simulator will be available for public dissemination. The manuals will introduce trainees to human machine interface of process control using a D3 Distributive Control System (DCS). After the DCS introduction the manual will walk trainees through startup, steady state and shut down procedures for safe ethanol facility operation. The manual will also introduce trainees to standard operating Clean-In-Place (CIP) procedures.
The shared learning environment model will be available for public dissemination and can be replicated across the state or across the nation.

| We will produce a booklet outlining the entire project that can be made available electronically to other companies or work force centers with master copies printed and sent to the state and DOL for further duplication however they desire. The goal is that this booklet can then become the blueprint for others to follow. It will list in detail what we did, how we did it, and problems we encountered or avoided. The end goal to provide both a plan and also enthusiasm that by companies, school systems, and work force centers working together- we can successfully introduce, attract, and bring the best and brightest back to our rural communities.

Shared work pilot program model | Products will be shared through the Minnesota Center for Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence, MnCEME. We will also have the ability to share these products with our partner schools through MnSCU. In addition, South Central College’s Center for Business and Industry, CBI will be able to the take the model we develop and apply it to other “courses” besides just mechatronics. CBI will become a primary player in distributing the model through different training initiatives.
